Hi.

Welcome to my blog. I document my adventures in board games! Find out how they play and what is good enough to "Leave it on the Table"

Garbage Day - Review

Garbage Day - Review

"I don't want to take out the garbage!! You do it!!"  "I'm not touching it."  "Hey, what? We have a a garbage can?"  Does this scenario sound familiar to you?   Yes, this is the all too familiar routine which takes place around GARBAGE DAY.

Every once in a while there comes this tiny game which you decide to impulsively buy and it throws you for a huge loop.

GARBAGE DAY just so happens to be one of those games.   It is not packaged in a nicely designed box,  instead you see a green plastic garbage can inside of clear plastic blister-pack.  Is this a real game,  you know,  that adults can enjoy or is it a toy?  I must know!!

Upon breaking it open,  you realize that the game is contained within the garbage can, which is also used in the game itself.

The premise of this amazing little game is that the players are all roommates who leave their messes all over the house,  and, as we all can relate to,  no one wants to empty the trash.  So instead of emptying the garbage,  the roommates either let the garbage pile up in their rooms,  or simply toss their refuse on top of the already piled up garbage can.   This sounds like my entire existence in college.   And this is where tye fun begins.

Each player has their own room and can fit only so much debris in their rooms before they must clean them,  hence having to balance refuse on the already top heavy garbage can.

Each player has three cards to choose from on their turns and can either play a card to the garbage,  place it in their room,  or put it into their roommate's room via special action cards.

After a while the trash will be overflowing with garbage.   You see, each card has holes in them,  and these holes must see through to the table.  These garbage cards are then balanced on the green plastic trash can that the game came in.   See, I told you the trash can was relevant.  Each trash card that a player drops from the trash can goes into their overflow pile.   If at any time you have too much in that pile,  the player is eliminated from play.  The player in the end with the cleanest room wins.   The player with the most overflow loses and has to take out the trash.

Very,  very fun dexterity game.  Go get it!!

Oh and the wife says...

"LEAVE IT ON THE TABLE!!"

I'm not picking it up...
